Science and Humanities in the Victorian Curriculum encourage students to explore, understand, and think critically about the natural world, human society, history, geography, civics, and economics.
Through this, our students develop deep knowledge, strong inquiry skills, and the capacity to make informed decisions. We draw on key aspects of the Explicit Direct Instruction (EDI) model to help students build core knowledge across subjects such as Geography, History, and Science. Structured learning is enriched with hands-on tasks, experiments, research, and investigations, providing meaningful opportunities to apply their knowledge and understanding. Learning is further enhanced through real-world incursions, use of technology, and excursions that bring concepts to life.
By actively engaging with the curriculum, students learn to collaborate effectively in problem-solving, and strengthen their personal and social capabilities. They are also encouraged to showcase their learning in a range of creative formats, helping them to consolidate their skills and knowledge in authentic and purposeful ways.
